Support for Failure to Launch
Therapy for Parents with a Stuck Young Adult
Is your adult child struggling with failure to launch?
Are you at a loss as to how to help your young adult child make their way in the world?
Does your child struggle with lack of motivation due to anxiety, depression, ADHD, or some other difficulty?
SPACE-FTL is a treatment that is designed to help YOU help your adult child become more independent.
What is Failure to Launch?
Failure to launch describes an adult who is:
- Not employed (no job, no family business participation, no internship, etc.)
- Not engaged in education or vocational training (or not fully participating)
- Living in their parents’ home or at their parents’ expense
How common is Failure to Launch?
According to the National Representative Survey to Assess Prevalence of FTL, about 9 million individuals in the US meet the criteria for failure to launch (this is excluding individuals with debilitating mental or physical health problems).
If these individuals were relocated, it would create the third largest city in the US.
